Thread plug gauges are the definitive tool for verifying that a tapped hole is within specification. The GO end must thread into the hole smoothly for the full engagement length, while the NO-GO end must stop - a GO that binds or a NO-GO that enters rejects the part. This simple two-step check gives machinists and QC teams immediate confidence in thread size, pitch and class.
Gauges are manufactured in hardened and ground tool steel, calibrated to the required standard and class, and supplied in protective cases. We supply plug gauges across metric and imperial thread types including M, UNC, UNF, BSW, G and NPT, in the common 6H/6g and 2B/3B tolerance classes, with special classes available on request.
