If you bolt directly against fiberglass or soft wood, you'll crush the material long before you hit your torque spec. The DIN 125 flat washer distributes the clamp load over a wider area. We supply these in marine-grade stainless so they don't leave rust streaks down your clean white gelcoat after a week at sea. It's a simple component, but skipping it guarantees surface damage.
- Perfect for: Protecting soft surfaces, bridging oversized holes, distributing torque loads.
- Not ideal if: You need to prevent a bolt from vibrating loose (use a spring washer instead).
